چکیده

Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an opportunistic pathogen causing infections in immunocompromised patients, usually shows pronounced antimicrobial resistance. In recent years, the frequency of carbapenemases P. aeruginosa has decreased, which allows use new beta-lactams/combinations therapy. Therefore, vitro evaluation these drugs contemporary isolates is warranted. We evaluated susceptibility and genomic aspects 119 clinical from 24 different hospitals Brazil 2021–2022. Identification was performed via MALDI-TOF-MS, identified through broth microdilution, gradient tests, or disk diffusion. Whole-genome sequencing carried out using NextSeq equipment. The most active drug cefiderocol (100%), followed by ceftazidime–avibactam (94.1%), ceftolozane–tazobactam (92.4%), imipenem–relebactam (81.5%). Imipenem detected 59 (49.6%), aminoglycoside tobramycin, to 99 (83.2%) were susceptible. Seventy-one sequence types (STs) detected, including twelve STs described herein. acquired resistance genes blaCTX-M-2 blaKPC-2 ten (8.4%) two (1.7%) isolates, respectively. Several virulence (exoSTUY, toxA, aprA, lasA/B, plcH) also identified. found that antimicrobials are effective against diverse population been circulating Brazilian years.

Antimicrobial Susceptibility Pattern of Clinical Isolates of Pseudomonas Aeruginosa in a Pediatric Hospital

Background and Objective: Pseudomonas aeruginosa has become a frequent cause of nosocomial infections, particularly in intensive care units (ICUs). Many reports have documented high rates of resistance in this species to commonly-used broad-spectrum antibiotics. The aim of this study was to assess the in vitro activity of some a...

OBJECTIVE To determine the level of resistance to the widely used antipseudomonal antibiotics in clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa). METHODS The microbiology database of all clinical isolates of P. aeruginosa at the Armed Forces Hospital, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from January 1999 to December 1999 was reviewed. The antimicrobial susceptibilities were determine...

Antimicrobial susceptibility of clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa from a Malaysian Hospital.

Ongoing surveillance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa resistance against antimicrobial agents is fundamental to monitor trends in susceptibility patterns and to appropriately guide clinicians in choosing empirical or directed therapy. The in vitro activity level of eight antimicrobial drugs was assessed against 97 clinical isolates of P. aeruginosa collected consecutively for three months in 2007 from...
